COMMUNITY NOTICES

The above event, held at St.James and All Souls church (near Salford Precinct) on Friday 7th March at 2pm is observed in 120 countries, and creates a continuous wave of prayer around the globe.
On the first Friday in March, the DAY OF PRAYER begins on the international dateline in Samoa;
a Global and Ecumenical Day of Prayer.
Early in the morning, Christian women begin praying for our world. As the earth rotates, a great wave of prayer begins to build. It sweeps across the Pacific, touching Fiji and New Zealand, rolling on through Asia, Japan, the Philippines, Korea and Bangladesh. The countries of Africa and the Middle East are next. The wave reaches the shores of Europe as day dawns. Across the Atlantic, it moves onward to the Caribbean, the Americas and onto the Pacific again until the sun finally sets over American Samoa where the final service takes place.
A worldwide circle of prayer is complete.
The worship service has a special annual theme. Through preparation and participation, we can come to know how people of other countries, languages and cultures understand the biblical passages. We can hear their concerns and needs and can feel ourselves in solidarity with them.
In this way, it is possible to experience the richness of the Christian Faith as it grows deeper and broader in an international ecumenical expression.
Everyone, [men and women], is invited to join our contribution to bringing peace and hope to the world.
Parking is limited at the church so it's wise to use the carparks of Tesco or the Precinct, making a note of the time allowance. Hopefully see you there.

CHRISTIAN WAY OF LIFE
INSTRUCTIONS
Remember that prayer is simply
having a conversation with God.
Sometimes, all it takes is one prayer

Remember God works in his time, not yours.
Have patience.
A real friend is one who walks in
when others walk out.
Seven days without prayer
makes one weak.
Christianity can be simple and understandable.
